Weekly Goals - 10/6/08

Here are my goals for this week:
  • 1. Workout 3 times (This will be a goal until I can develop it as a good habit.)
  • 2. Make a menu for the week
  • 3. Get picture taken of one of the girls at Sears

  • 5. Post to this blog each day
  • 6. Post to family blog 3 times
  • 7. Clean out drawer in buffet
  • 8. Take recycling
  • 9. Clean out the car
  • 10. Spend a little time each day for myself

Here is how I did with last week's goals:

Goal 1: Workout 3 times. I did not make it to the gym this week. I have been concentrating on trying to be happy. I did walk one time this week. I am going to do better next week.

Goal 2: Make a menu for the week. I completed this.

Goal 3: Get picture taken of one of the girls at Sears. I did not do this yet. I will try to complete it this week.

Goal 4: Clip & file coupons from last week. All my coupons got clipped and some got filed. I am almost caught up.

Goal 5: Take cans to be recycled.
I took these this week and got $5 which I used for lunch one day.

Goal 6: Make a tutu. I made Cassidy's tutu. She really liked it.

Goal 7: Clean out drawer in buffet. I did not complete this yet.

Goal 8: Take recycling on Saturday. I forgot to take the recycling. I remembered at about noon on Saturday and they were getting ready to close. I will take it this week.

Goal 9: Try a new recipe. We tried the Chicken Casserole last week. I think it was a success. It was a very easy meal that we will have again.

Goal 10: Plan & have a birthday party for Cassidy (she is going to be 6 years old). Cassidy's party was Friday night and she had a good time. She loves parties and being the center of attention. I think she got many of the gifts she was wanting. She is growing up so fast.

Weekly Goals - 9/29/08

Here are my goals for this week:
  • 1. Workout 3 times (This will be a goal until I can develop it as a good habit.)
  • 2. Make a menu for the week
  • 3. Get picture taken of one of the girls at Sears
  • 4. Clip & file coupons from this week
  • 5. Take cans to be recycled
  • 6. Make a tutu
  • 7. Clean out drawer in buffet
  • 8. Take recycling on Saturday
  • 9. Try a new recipe
  • 10. Plan & have a birthday party for Cassidy (she is going to be 6 years old)

Here is how I did with last week's goals:

Goal 1: Workout 3 times. I only made it to the gym one time this past week. I took a walk with Ryan one night and then we went to Holiday World on Sunday. I think the workout at Holiday World was probably the hardest. It seems like everywhere you go it is uphill (especially when you are pushing the stroller). Ryan & I did take turns pushing the stroller.

Goal 2: Make a menu for the week. I completed this.

Goal 3: Get picture taken of one of the girls at Sears. I did not do this last week. I will try to do it this week.

Goal 4: File coupons. Before the coupons came this weekend in the newspaper, I had all (except a few I may still find) my coupons clipped and filed. I was SO happy. I took out all the coupons that were expiring this week. I want to clip the coupons from this week and get them filed before I get any more coupons.

Goal 5: Send for rebates that are on the computer desk.
I finally got these sent off.

Goal 6: Sew something. Sadly, I did not take the time to sew something this week either. Cassidy's birthday is this week and I would like to try to make the tutu for her birthday.

Goal 7: Clean out drawer in buffet. I started to clean out one of the drawers, but I did not complete it yet. I will try to finish this week.

Goal 8: Organize cleaning supply closet. I finished organizing the closet, you can see it HERE.

Goal 9: Try a new recipe. We did not try any new recipes this week.

Goal 10: Make a Shutterfly book. I can be a little bit of a procrastinator. I had a free photo book from Shutterfly, but it had to be ordered by the 26th. Of course, I worked on it that day and finally completed it in the early evening. I went to order it and found out that the style I picked was not one of the free books. I was pretty disappointed. I decided I was not going to give up my free book, so I spent a couple of hours after the girls went to bed working on a new book that would be free. I completed it. I also had a free Shutterfly book that I won, so I ordered 2 copies of the book I completed. Since I worked all day on the first book, I decided to order that one also. I ended up paying a little over $30 for all three books including shipping. These books usually run about $30 each plus about $8 shipping. I can't wait until they come. The books should be here either the end of this week, or early next week. I will post a picture when they come.

  • 4. File coupons
  • 5. Send for rebates that are on the computer desk.

  • 8. Organize cleaning supply closet
  • 9. Try a new recipe
  • 10. Make a Shutterfly book

Goal 3: Iron 5 things. I completed this.

Goal 4: File coupons. I am still working on my coupons. It is never ending.

Goal 5: Take recycling.
Thanks to my wonderful husband, this goal was completed.

Goal 6: Sew something. Sadly, I did not take the time to sew something. I did go to a fabric store to buy the supplies to make the girls a tutu.

Goal 7: Clean out drawer in buffet. I completed this. I have several other drawers I want to complete, so I will make this a goal again.

Goal 8: Organize cleaning supply closet. I did not get to this yet. I will complete it next week.

Goal 9: Try a new recipe. I did this. We had Shrimp Fried Rice instead of our usual Chicken Fried Rice. Of course, I did not eat it, I don't like shrimp. I am going to try to have something new next week also.

Goal 10: Find good place for Cassidy's school papers. I bought a portable hanging file folder case. I put her papers she brings home each day in there. I also put all important papers from school in a folder in the front of the case. She keeps her library book and her speech folder on top of the case. It is all easy to find when we need it.

  • 1. Workout 3 times
  • 2. Make a menu for the week
  • 3. Iron 5 things
  • 4. Work on coupons
  • 5. Finish organizing pantry
  • 6. Make a dessert for new neighbors
  • 7. Lower Chloe's bed
  • 8. Organize cleaning supply closet
  • 9. Try a new recipe
  • 10. Enter codes at Pampers.com

Here is how I did with last week's goals:

Goal 1: Workout 3 times. I walked with a friend on Tuesday evening, went to the gym on Wednesday morning, and walked with Ryan on Saturday.

Goal 2: Make a menu for the week. I completed this.

Goal 3: Iron 5 things. I completed this.

Goal 4: Work on coupons. I am still working on my coupons. I was really motivated this week and got a lot clipped and filed. K-Mart had double coupons and I wanted to be able to find the coupons I wanted to use. I will try to get caught up more this week.

Goal 5: Get ready for yard sale.
We had a yard sale on Saturday. I just wasn't that motivated to gather things to sale. I did find a few things and Ryan found a few things. It was a success. We got rid of some things we did not want anymore and made a little money in the process.

Goal 6: Finish organizing pantry. I did not work on this at all. I will try to finish this week. I am proud of the work I have done so far, I just need to complete it.

Goal 7: Make a dessert for someone. I still did not do this. I am going to work on it this week. We had some new neighbors move in a couple of houses down, so I am going to make some cookies or something for them welcoming them to the neighborhood.

Goal 8: Enter Coke codes at mycokerewards.com at least 3 times. I did this. I entered all the codes that I had saved in the cabinet.

Sunday, August 31, 2008

Weekly Goals - 9/1/08

I usually try to make 10 goals each week, but we decided to have a yard sale on Saturday. I decided I needed a little time to work on preparing for the sale. So, here are my weekly goals:
  • 1. Workout 3 times
  • 2. Make a menu for the week
  • 3. Iron 5 things
  • 4. Work on coupons
  • 5. Get ready for yard sale
  • 6. Finish organizing pantry
  • 7. Make a dessert for someone
  • 8. Enter Coke codes at mycokerewards.com at least 3 times

Here is how I did with last week's goals:

Goal 1: Join the gym. I did this on Monday.

Goal 2: Workout at the gym 3 times. I went on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Goal 3: Make out a menu for the week. I completed this.

Goal 4: Organize the pantry. I really got a lot done on this. I an not finished, but I got the bulk of it finished. I am going to make it a goal to finish the pantry this week. I will post a before and after picture next week.

Goal 5: Ask when I can volunteer at the school.
Cassidy's teacher called on Monday to check if we had any questions. I asked her about volunteering and she said she would need more help as the year goes on. I am hoping to be able to volunteer before that a little bit also.

Goal 6: Iron 5 things. I did this.

Goal 7: Clip & organize more coupons. I am still working on this. I am sorting my coupons into a 3 ring binder using baseball card holders to put them in. I have most of the coupons cut out, I just need to sort them and file them in the correct places. I feel like this is becoming a burden, so I have not been buying as many papers recently. I usually just get a couple. I have also been saving my expired coupons because I heard of a program where you send them to a military base overseas and they can use them. I have not been able to get myself together enough to mail them out. I am going to start fresh and throw away all my expired coupons. After I am better organized, I will save them and mail them out.

Goal 8: Work on a few more baby gifts. I was able to finish a few more gifts for a friend of mine who is about to have a baby. I can't wait to give them to her.

Goal 9: Enter Coke codes at mycokerewards.com at least 5 times. I did this. I entered 50 codes this week. I still have a few to enter, but I am almost caught up.

Goal 10: Make a dessert for someone else. I haven't done this yet. I wanted to, just no time. I will do it next week. Who should I make a dessert for, any suggestions?

Weekly Goals - Week of 8/25/08

Here are my weekly goals:
  • 1. Join the gym
  • 2. Workout at the gym 3 times
  • 3. Make out a menu for the week
  • 4. Organize the pantry
  • 5. Ask when I can volunteer at the school
  • 6. Iron 5 things
  • 7. Clip & organize more coupons
  • 8. Work on a few more baby gifts
  • 9. Enter Coke codes at mycokerewards.com at least 5 times
  • 10. Make a dessert for someone else

Here is how I did with last week's goals:

Goal 1: Walk 75 minutes. I walked only 15 minutes.

Goal 2: Visit Cassidy's school. I went, turned in my volunteer sheet and told them I wanted to be at the school once a week.

Goal 3: Organize pantry. I did not get to this yet. I wanted some containers from Wal-Mart, but I couldn't find them.

Goal 4: Organize freezer. I did this. I now can find more things and I fit a few more things in the freezer. (See pictures below.)

Goal 5: Iron 5 things. I did this and ironed even more than 5.

Goal 6: Clip & file coupons. This seems to be never ending. If I can get caught up, I think the weekly papers will be easier to keep up with.

Goal 7: Do/make something special for Ryan. I feel like this and a few other goals are not specific enough. How do I decide if something I did or made is special enough to fall under this goal? I did get to sit in the Hot Tub with Ryan and I made him steak. I think he enjoyed both of those things.

Goal 8: Do/make something special for Cassidy. We made mints together Saturday night.

Goal 9: Do/make something special for Callie. We played on the computer together.

Goal 10: Do/make something special for someone else. As suggested by Susan, I decided to so something for myself. I rented a few movies for myself and watched them.

Weekly Goals - Week of 8/4/08

Here are my weekly goals:
  • 1. Walk everyday. I want to get in the habit of walking everyday. I figured even if I just walked down the street with the kids or 5 minutes on the treadmill, I can start a good habit.
  • 2. Walk at least 75 minutes. I want to have a least a few walks that are more than a few minutes. I would like to make sure I am getting good exercise.
  • 3. Make out a menu for the week. I think this will help us to eat healthier and have what we need in the house. It won't be 5pm and I am wondering what to cook.
  • 4. Clean out the refrigerator.
  • 5. Organize the freezer.
  • 6. Work on making a new schedule for our days. I want to have a schedule to follow once Ryan goes back to work. I want to make sure we fit all the important stuff in everyday.
  • 7. Continue working on coupons.
  • 8. Do something fun with the girls. I think they are going to have someone over to play on Wednesday.
  • 9. Iron 5 more things (shirts or pants).
  • 10. Upload July's pictures to Shutterfly.

Here is how I did with last week's goals:

Goal 1: Walk 75 minutes. I did not walk :(

Goal 2: Work on organizing coupons. I worked on this. Not including this week, I have almost all the non food coupons in the binder.

Goal 3: Something fun with the girls. Grace came to visit. The girls had a good time. We also had a couple of teenagers over on Saturday to play with and watch the girls. They love spending time with people. We also went to a swimming birthday party. We all had fun.

Goal 4: Keep a food journal. I did not do this. I am going to make a menu for this week. I think that will help me see what I am eating.

Goal 5: Be more encouraging to my family. I tried to do this.

Goal 6: Clean out and organize a cabinet. This week I organized the cabinet with the kid's stuff.

Goal 7: Go to the recycling center. I was pretty frustrated with going the last time and no one being there. Ryan decided to go this week and took our stuff. The recycling center moved to another location. I am not sure why there was not a sign on the door or why someone didn't call me back with that information after I left a message. It was a really nice place. It was a drive thru. You could just drive in, put your recycling in the bins, and then drive off. If it was raining, you would not get wet. I loved it. I could just leave the kids in the car. Ryan said the new location was not as nice. It looks like I will be trying to take our stuff on Saturdays when the other place is open.

Goal 8: Make Chloe a little tag blanket. I cut the material and ribbons. I pinned the ribbons to the material. I wanted to sew it tonight, but everyone in the house is asleep and I don't want to wake them. I will sew it together tomorrow.

Goal 9: Find a place for extra diapers and put them there. My plan is to clean up the girls' closet and then there will be room to put the few packages I have left.

Goal 10: Iron 5 shirts or pants. I finished this :)

Weekly Goals - Week of 7/28/08

My goals for this week are simple. They are the same as last week's goals. I did complete some of them, but I need to finish the rest. I am not sure where the time goes. It seems I come to the end of the week, look at my goals and see that I have not completed everything I wanted.

Here are my goal with what I did and what I want to do:

Goal 1: Walk 75 minutes. Last week I walked 50 minutes. I will try to walk the full 75 minutes this week.

Goal 2: Work on organizing coupons. Last week I worked on this quite a bit. I still need to finish this. Most of my coupons are in my new binder, but I need to put the rest in there.

Goal 3: Something fun with the girls. Last week we took the girls to the Rend Lake beach to have a picnic with some friends. Ryan took Cassidy and Callie swimming. We all had a good time. This week, we are having one of the girls' friends over. They are super excited about it.

Goal 4: Keep a food journal. I did some of this last week. I have about 2 days of journaling. I am going to do my best to have more days this week. I know it will help me loose weight, because I can see what I am eating each day and adjust it.

Goal 5: Be more encouraging to my family. I am working on this and I need to continue to work on this. I am not sure why it seems so hard sometimes. Please pray for me.

Goal 6: Clean out and organize cabinet. I cleaned and organized the cup cabinet last week. This week I organized the cabinet with the kid's stuff.

Goal 7: Go to the recycling center. I went last week twice. They were not open. I hope someone will be there this week.

Goal 8: Make Chloe a little tag blanket. I did not get to this last week. I hope to complete it this week.

Goal 9: Find a place for extra diapers and put them there. I did find a place to put extra diapers and I put them there. The place is now full and I have more diapers. So this week, I want to find a place for the rest of the diapers.

Goal 10: Iron 5 shirts or pants. I have no good excuse for not completing this last week, but I will work on it this week.

Weekly Goals - Week of July 7, 2008

I did not complete all my goals from last week. Cassidy, Callie and I were all sick this past week. Chloe was also a bit cranky and not herself, I guess because she had shots on Monday. We are all feeling better and hope to make this week a productive one.

Here are my goals for this week (some are repeats from last week):

  • 1. Walk 75 minutes
  • 2. Buy Ryan shoes or have him buy them
  • 3. Clean out car & vacuum
  • 4. Iron 10 shirts
  • 5. Organize coupons
  • 6. Upload pictures to CVS & order prints
  • 7. Do something fun with the girls (Chuckie Cheese? or Bowling?)
  • 8. Encourage or compliment Cassidy each day
  • 9. Encourage or compliment Callie each day
  • 10. Encourage or compliment Ryan each day

I want to start encouraging people more and I thought I would start with my own family. I sometimes find myself being negative. I want to be an encourgement, not a discouragement to people especially my husband and children.

  • Go to Chuckie Cheese
  • Go to the Zoo
  • Go to the Science Center
  • Play at either Burger King or McDonalds
  • Go Bowling
  • Go to the park
  • Go see the fireworks
  • Go see a movie
  • Go to the Library
  • Have a friend over
Do you have any suggestions?

Weekly Goals - Week of 6/15/08

Since the yard sale was last week and I spent a lot of the past week working on getting ready, I think I will take it easy this week.  I don't want to be to ambitious.  I originally planned to organize the house this week, now I think I will just pick one or two areas to organize.

Here are my goals:
  • 1.  Make a summer schedule for daily and weekly activities.
  • 2.  Upload 6 months of pictures to Shutterfly and order my 25 free pictures.
  • 3.  Sign up for CVS Photo.  I should get 50 free pictures.
  • 4.  Organize the linen closet in the hallway.
  • 5.  Organize the linen closet in our bedroom.
  • 6.  Take the girls shopping at the "big" mall.  Cassidy earned a Libby Lou makeover and Callie wants to go to the candy store for her reward.  (They have been sleeping in their own bed, which is a BIG accomplishment.)
  • 7.  Buy bumper pads for Chloe's bed.
  • 8.  Buy a patio swing or lawn chairs.
  • 9.  Walk 50 minutes.
  • 10. Have 2 soda free days.
