Target Trip - 6/25/08

I went to Target again this week. It is very unusual for me to go to Target 2 weeks in a row. I am not complaining. I truly enjoy Target.

I did this in 2 transactions. Here is the first one:
  • 4 Johnson's Baby Products @ $2.79 each
  • 2 Kid's Toothbrushes @ $2.29 and $2.34
  • 2 Band Aid products @ $1.97 and $3.54
  • 1 Package Schick Razors @ $0.99
  • 3 Ziploc Baggies @ $1.00 each
  • 2 Rice Krispies with Strawberries @ $3.14 each
  • 1 Raisin Bran Crunch @ $2.50
  • 1 Foot Loops Straws @ $1.99
Total Before Coupons: $36.06

Coupons Used:
  • BOGO Toothbrush so $2.29
  • 1 - $1.00 off Rice Krispies
  • 2 - $2.00 off 2 Johnson's Products
  • 2 - $1.00 off Band Aids
  • 3 - $0.55 off Ziploc Baggies
  • 2 - $5.00 off 3 products Target Coupon
I just realized I should have had $3.00 more off my total. I guess the cashier did not scan those coupons. She was a little upset with me because I was using a lot of coupons. She told me next time to go to the service desk to redeem my coupons.

I spent $15.96 on my first transaction and received a $5.00 gift card for buying the cereal.

On the second transaction, I bought Chloe 2 dresses @ 4.18 each. I used the $5.00 gift card I just received and paid only $3.99 out of pocket.

It was a good trip.

I have never understood why cashiers get mad when people use coupons. They act annoyed that they have to do their job.

I went to Walmart and had a BOGO coupon for Head & Shoulders and the woman was so angry and kept saying that it wasn't working and so she finally tried one last time and it worked.

That's when I'd be calling a manager. Look, you can either take my coupons with a smile or you can void the entire transaction. There are too many fishies in the sea to have to tolerate rude cashiers. Maybe I'm just ornery! lol!

Great job on your Target deals. I'm just starting to dip my toes into the Target arena.

Hi there, found you on Money Saving Mom. Great job! Don't let snotty cashiers get you down. I find that the teenage cashiers are usually less rude about coupons. They don't care.

I used to work at Target as a cashier while I was in college. Target has a scoring system for their cashiers. If they do not get through the transaction fast enough, they get a poor score. If they continue to get poor scores, it will show up on their review. If their reviews are continually poor, they may end up working somewhere else in the store or even lose their job. Its a little stressful, so I understand why they get upset when there are a lot of coupons. I just say politely, "I hope this doesn't affect your score!" And they usually are grateful for the sympathy and work with me. :-)
