I feel like this has been a good week at CVS. I was happy with my purchases. I was not planning another trip, but then CVS sent me a coupon in my e-mail for $5.00 off of my $30.00 or more purchase good for Saturday only. I guess I will look to see if there was anything else I wanted to get. I may get some of the monthly deals that earn ECBs, but I am not sure.

For other great deals, check out Money Saving Mom and The "Cent"sible Sawyer.

I don’t think I am understanding how the 2nd and 3rd and 4th work out to the OOP amount.
2nd: 2.00+.25+3.99+3.99+1.49+1.49+2.99=16.20
then minus 3.00-.25-.75-1.50-1.50-1.00-2.00=-10.00
16.20-10.00=6.20 oop

3rd: 6.49+6.49+3.49=16.47
then minus 3.00-2.00-2.00-3.00=-10.00
16.47-10.00=6.47 oop

4th: 6.49+6.49+3.48=16.47
then minus 3.00-2.00-2.00-2.00=-9.00
16.47-9.00=7.47

I must be doing something wrong….. I want to do this CVS thing but am trying to understand what my totals will be before I get to the store. But, you can probably tell I am a newbie! Thanks for your site and others like you who help us be frugal.

Diane,

For the 2nd transaction, it should also be -$3.99 (toothpaste) and -$1.49 (gum) for the buy one get one free sales. That would make it $6.20-$3.99-$1.49=$0.72 (plus tax).

The 3rd and 4th transactions are similar. The $6.49 for the All detergent should be subtracted for the buy one get one sales.

If this doesn't make since, let me know. I will try to explain it better. I want everyone to be able to get these great deals.

Hey Amy, I have a question too. It doesn't look like your fourth transaction added up to $15.00 in order to use your $3.00 off $15.00. Help me out, I'm learning too!

The 3rd and 4th transactions were $6.49+6.49+3.49=$16.47. Then I used the $3 off $15. That puts it down to $13.47. Then the buy one get one discount is applied. So, $13.47-6.49=$6.98. Then my other coupons are subtracted. $6.98-2.00-1.00-1.00=$2.98. Then I used my ECBs for most of the rest of the total.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Amy!

I get it now....with your help of course!

Oh, I have thought of another question. If the CVS ad is B1G1 free, (like the ALL detergent) then do you have to do your transaction a certain way in order for the free one to ring up and count towards the 15.00 total? Do you not give them your CVS card (which takes off the free one) until your receipt has rung up to at least 15.00? And, then you give them the 3.00 cpn for 15.00 and then you give them your CVS card, and then the rest of your coupons and ecb's? Or maybe it doesn't matter one bit and I am worrying way too much over this! LOL!

I always give my CVS card at the beginning. If I have the $3 off $15 or a similar coupon, I give that next, then I give them the rest. If I am using ECBs, then I give those after I am given my total after my coupons.

I am glad I can help.

Nice deals! I did the All and Trident deals too. I felt like I had to pass up the Colgate this week since I already have about 15 tubes! :) Check out my Weekly CVS Preview if you get a chance. I've got all the coupon matches for the deals that start tomorrow. Have a great weekend!
